??? Name That Hymn ???

Charles Gabriel known as the “Prince of American Hymn Writers” wrote between 7000 – 8000 hymns including this one in 1898.

This beloved hymn is published in 79 hymnals.

Making Music

Think CHOIR! There are so many great things about singing in a choir. Every ward and branch can and should have one. There are many blessings that come from singing together:

  • It is a place to hear the Savior’s voice
  • The cumulative effect of voices singing is a powerful tool for doing good
  • Gathering and singing can provide a cohesive group to belong to – for all ages
  • Joining the choir is a worthy goal for youth and adults
  • It’s a great place for children and youth to practice vocalizing & learning songs – adults as well
  • It’s joyful and brings satisfaction to the soul
  • Singing good music brings solace, hope, and uplifts the heart
  • The song of the righteous is a prayer to God

The months of May, June, and July are opportune times to plan for your ward choir. It is not too early to calendar and prepare for Christmas as well. Don’t fear making music or mistakes. The effort will be worth it.
